About

I wasn’t taught some of the tools needed for life. Only the ones to survive. I am on a journey to live. Feel free to journey with me.

I’ve been all over the world. I’ve played music on different continents, worked for a fortune 500 company on management track and backpacked down the coast of California. I’ve broken multiple bones, sustained multiple major concussions, and walked away from a collision between my body and a speeding land rover.

The better part of the last decade has found me in jobs I hate, increasingly overweight, in bed most of the day, suffering from memory issues, PTSD, trauma, depression, a broken family and a broken heart.

In truth, I survived it all and I am SO thankful for that. But just barely. I came perilously close to never being able to even write this.

Luckily, a few people found their way to me. They shined a light on a path of relief and recovery. Gave me the tools to dig my way out of the abyss and in the process, set me on a road to truly living.

Today, I am 100lbs. lighter, in the company of loving people and far from death’s door. I’m doing the things that make my heart sing, caring less about the perfect life and instead beginning to truly live.

I have a job that allows me to serve others and continue to grow while I daily build a career that makes me spill over with joy.

I feel the beauty of a sunny day, experience the rush of playing music on the stage, feel the strength of a healthy body after a 50-mile morning bike ride and the lightness of a mind more prone to hope than hopelessness.

  1. i just stumbled upon your blog and i have to say that i really enjoy it. it seems so real and well crafted. in a way i believe that you and i are rather alike, that is we struggle to put into words the thoughts, feelings, emotions that we experience without them losing (in this process) that which makes them so potent to begin with.

  2. It is refreshing to see that you are willing to learn from other’s experiences, absorb their wisdom, distill it within your own being, then offer your own candid, honest perspective. Very refreshing indeed…

I also have a blog you might be interested in cruising through at http://www.spiritusilentium.wordpress.com Check out the articles written by myself: Liisa, I also post articles from other sources.
