A while back, I was in search of a new car and I was spending most of my time finding it. I had had a low end truck that wasn’t exactly the nicest and I was in a place now to move up int0 something nicer. So I began the search and after a little while I found the exact car I wanted.
When I went over there, I fell in love with it and I started to figure out how I could get the money together for it. Only when I tried, the money fell apart. I was crushed because I knew the car would be gone and it really bummed me out because it was supposed to be mine.
So the next day came and I figured I would just look around the ads to see what was around. And you know what, I found one that was 10x better then the original one I wanted. When I went over to buy it, it was even better and on top of that I happened to get an much better price for the next one.
All this to say: There is always an alternative to what you might think you want or need. You may not get exactly what you want at the time you want it. And you know what? That really sucked at the time. In your head, you may be thinking that that is the best possible path for you. I get it. It happens to all of us.
But while you may be disappointed because you don’t get to travel down the road you thought you were meant for, there will come a time when you a new path presents itself. And when it does, you will realize that the new one was the right choice for you all along. And as with most things of this nature, you might even find that it was way better then the original thing you wanted so bad.
If anything this teaches me to be patient. To really search far and wide for the things that are right for me. They may not come when I want them to, but they will come and the right choice will be the best choice even if it doesn’t seem like that in the beginning.
