Teach Me To Get Through One More Day
When I’m working on a project that takes months or longer, it can get very tiring. These can be things like lifestyle changes, diets, novels, starting new businesses, school or many of the other long winded things in this life. In the beginning, it’s a thrill. You know how it is. You have all this energy and passion for the project ahead of you and for the first month or so it stays that way.
But as time passes, and you delve deeper into it, the honeymoon part of the project starts to wear off and in time you grow tired. You start to question what your doing and why your doing it and if you will ever make it to the end of the tunnel. It can be a very hard obstacle to get over. If it is something physical, you may find yourself laying in bed in morning wondering how you are going to get up and do the same thing all over again.
This is one of the most important parts of the journey in your project. This is when your true colors show. This when you have to start telling yourself to just get through one more day. It can be a hard thing to do, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. I find myself having to go this route all the time. Psyching myself out. Pumping it into my head. Just get through one more day. Just do your work one more day. WAIT ONE MORE DAY BEFORE GIVING UP.
Beauty of it is. If you keep telling yourself this, it does eventually come true. But it’s not just one more day, it’s one more week or one more month. When this happens you realize that you have gotten over the hump of the obstacle. And in time you even find that you have reached the end of journey and arrived at your destination.
So if your having one of those days where you just feel all burned out and feel like you can’t get up and do the same damn thing all over again, just get inside your head and tell your self ONE MORE DAY. Keep telling yourself those words as long as you need to and as long as it takes to get you out of bed and taking care of business for the day.
Keep going, keep going, keep going. ONE MORE DAY FRIENDS.
