Teach Me Resistance
Resistance. The biggest wall you will ever go up against in your life. I’m sure you all know it. You may be waking up and it causes you to question why you should get up and run instead of sleep more. You may be working on a project and your going blank and it causes you to wonder why your even doing it in the first place. Someone may have dealt you some much needed criticism and resistance makes you start to think you will never be good at it.
Resistance is a fierce enemy. It may attack you head on like the examples that I just gave, but it may also be more subtle. It’s best friends are rationalization, doubt, lack of confidence, tiredness and many more sneaky little friends. This is especially useful when your doing so good. It realizes that it needs to be more cunning in order to trip you up and let me tell you it can be very cunning.
This why we need to look out for it. We need to be keenly aware that it is there at every corner trying to get you to stop what your doing. Resistance seems to be in our DNA and because of that, we have to fight every day to get past it. But resistance gives us something even greater then we thought it would as well.
It gives us a better reward. Think about how much better you feel when you have gone up against resistance all day or all week and yet you still succeeded. The reward is so much sweeter. That’s because the stakes are up so much higher and you have to run up a much steeper hill.
Resistance is out to get us, challenge us, and if it can, stop us for good. But it is that very reason that we have to push on even when we don’t feel like it. Because when you push back against resistance long enough through all the tired days, blocked days, and utter failures you move into the realm of success. And when your there and you experience true achievement, it is now very hard for resistance to do anything to you.
Resistance knows your success takes away its power.
SO PUSH ON, PUSH PAST, SUCCEED and Resistance will LOOSE.
